Understanding Social and Emotional Learning from BV Well

According to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), social and emotional learning is “the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”  Social and emotional learning is crucial to a student’s success, especially for young people today growing up in a hyperconnected world.

Having the pleasure of working with children, teens, and young adults, we see first-hand the pressures that young people are under today so we reached out to Joy Ginsburg of the Blue Valley Educational Foundation to learn more about their social and emotional learning initiative, BV Well.
