On-Site Character Program at Primrose School of KU Med

Children ages 3–6 are learning how to listen, follow directions, and manage their energy.The KOMA On-Site Character Program at Primrose School of KU Med uses simple martial arts based movement to help children build focus, discipline, confidence, and self-control in a structured and supportive environment.
Classes are taught on-site by trained KOMA instructors and designed to support both classroom behavior and healthy development.

How the Program Works

  • 30 minute classes
  • Once per week
  • Taught on-site at Primrose School of KU Med
  • Small group instruction
  • Led by certified KOMA instructors

Classes follow the same routine each week so children know what to expect and feel secure.

What Children Learn

Through structured movement and clear expectations, children practice:

  • Listening and following directions
  • Controlling body and energy
  • Waiting their turn patiently
  • Showing respect to teachers and classmates
  • Trying again when something feels difficult

Martial arts movements are used as a tool to teach these skills, not as an end goal.

Schedule and Cost

  • 13 week quarters
  • $195 per student per quarter
    • Or three monthly payments of $75
  • $35 one time enrollment fee
    • Includes official KOMA class shirt and belt
  • Belt graduation at KOMA
    • $65 per student
    • Optional but strongly encouraged
