When our founder, Master Bronson Ko, started teaching at the age of 15, he noticed a need for a curriculum that included character building in addition to the martial arts skill requirements. As he gained more experience with teaching children, he completed the first draft of the curriculum that fuels our martial arts programs in our Overland Park and Olathe locations today.
Not only is our curriculum objective based, it keeps our students motivated by allowing them to earn different colored stripes for completed various character projects at home. The end goal is the child takes the increased focus, discipline, and respect learned from KOMA into their household.
All martial arts curriculum are not created equal. Some curriculum are more adult focused with an emphasis on self defense while others are only focused on learning the art. The KOMA curriculum strikes a balance between achieving mastery in the art and building character for better behavior.
