Why do I like teaching children?

Their willingness to learn, grow and discover they can do difficult things,  if they give themselves the chance to try. When given the opportunity to  fail, they discover success in the little things, that will hopefully start  laying the groundwork to lead them to the really big accomplishments some  day.

What do I love most about my job?

I look forward to the “Ah-Ha!” Moments….. the ones where their eyes light  up, and they reconsider their self limitations, and they begin to tug at the  thread that reveals the best version of themselves.

What is your favorite quote?

I believe in the power of positive affirmation. Each morning I wake up and  see 3 quotes on my wall, 1-Live by grace, not perfection, 2-Inspire, 3-Weird  is the beginning of awesome, Aubrey Hepburn said, “Nothing is Impossible, the  word itself says, I’m Possible!”

What other hobbies do you have?

I’m a single mom with 2 dogs, 3 kids, in 3 schools; elementary, Middle  School, and Highschool. Every day, they silently remind me I still have a lot  to learn regarding being a mom. Every age and stage presents its own set of  challenges. I find it imperative to allow yourself to be humbly confident  enough to say, I am still learning and growing too!    I grew up in a home with the growth mindset of;  if it was broke, you fixed it. If you  didn’t know how, you learned, and give 100% effort 100% of the time. That  simple ideology evolved into enjoying multiple hobbies and a life long love  of learning and teaching. I have a full home   workshop, currently working towards an ASA Certification, (Sailing)  and NASM certifications. I have been Padi scuba certified since 16 yrs old,  learned to slalom waterski at 10 and still ski, snow ski  every winter, and still back country ski, used  to be a competitive figure-skater, (yes, triple axel) used to play, referee,  and coach soccer, (still love the game) and   always will be a Black-Belt.
